TIME TO LIVE Short Break grant scheme REOPENS!

After securing further funding from Scottish Government Short Breaks Funding, Shetland Carers are delighted to announce that our Time to Live Short Break grant scheme REOPENS on 1st October 2021.

We want to encourage carers, and the people they care for, to have a 'break', i.e. some time out from their regular caring routines. We want you to use the money to do something that you enjoy, that will give you something to look forward to and that will help promote good health and wellbeing.

This funding is administered through Shared Care Scotland and is delivered through our Time to Live Short Break grant scheme. Applicants for these grants (including young carers) should be caring for someone who is 21 years or older. You can apply online or email us at carers@shetland.org for an application form.

Short Breaks will be subject to funding. We have set a limit on the amount of grant we can provide to allow as many carers as possible to benefit from the scheme. Currently, we are offering a grant up to a maximum of £150 per carer towards your chosen Short Break. This could be towards the cost of a holiday, activity, hobby or therapy.
