Kick off with a Verse
Kick off with a Verse - free online creative support sessions for unpaid carers of people living with dementia.
The sessions provide a safe place to share experiences; where poetry is used as a springboard for discussion; where you can learn and practice relaxation skills; where you can be curious about the challenges arising in the care partnership and find your own words to say it as it is.
The sessions are online and can be accessed by people wherever they live, internet connection permitting of course. You can join in either the afternoon sessions, or the evening sessions - whichever works best for you. The sessions are limited to 12 participants who are invited to attend a series of sessions rather than use Kick off with a Verse as a drop in. However, it is known from experience that the responsibilities of caring mean that, however strong the intention, an absence may be unavoidable, and this is acknowledged. If there is the demand, further courses will be set up.
You can choose between:
Thursday afternoons 2.00 - 3.30pm
And from 13th November.... Wednesday evenings 7.00 - 8.30pm
What happens in a 90 minute session?
•share with other carers in a confidential space
•develop relaxation skills
•are curious about the challenges which come up when caring
•read poems and find our own words to say it how it is
