During Carers Week 2020, Voluntary Action Shetland (VAS) is inviting health and care services, schools, employers and businesses across the community to recognise the vital contribution made by unpaid carers in Shetland. During the week, VAS hope to raise the profile of unpaid carers and try to identify hidden carers who are not currently receiving support. VAS want to support and empower carers to manage their caring role and have a life outside their caring role.
We've had to look at celebrating Carers Week differently this year, due to Covid-19 and lockdown. But we hope you'll be able to join us at 10.30am each day for an online break in some, or all, of the following events;
All week - 'Mug and treat' competition - We would encourage you to have a “daily pause” through the week. Take some time out to enjoy a cuppa and a treat. Send us a photo of your 'mug and treat' and a winner will be chosen at random!
Monday 8th June 10.30am - 30 min live workout by Toyah Irvine from SRT
Tuesday 9th June 10.30am - 20 min stress relief audio session with Diane Taylor of Shetland Resolve
Wednesday 10th June 10.30am - Over 50s fitness session by Rosemary Mallace
Thursday 11th June 10.30am - Join us through Zoom for a virtual coffee morning with a quiz!
(This is the only event which needs to be booked as a code will be required to access Zoom. To book, please see contact details below)
Friday 12th June 10.30am - 30 min live workout by Toyah Irvine from SRT
