Bursary Funding for Carers

CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS OF FRIDAY 24TH JUNE 2016

Unlocking the Potential of Short Breaks

An international conference to explore good practice in short breaks (respite care) policy and practice

Edinburgh, 13th to 15th September 2016

Bursary Funding for Carers

Shared Care Scotland is delighted to be hosting the 10th International conference on short breaks which takes place in Edinburgh between the 13th and 15th September 2016. The conference takes place every 2 years, but this is the first time that it has come to Scotland. This is a unique opportunity to take part in an international conversation about short breaks. Further information about the conference is available at: www.isba.me

Thanks to funding from the Scottish Government, we are able to provide up to five bursary places to enable unpaid carers to attend this prestigious event. The bursary fund will cover most expenses including travel, accommodation, conference fees plus a contribution towards any replacement care, should this be required.

Who can apply?

We would like to prioritise this funding towards unpaid carers who are involved in contributing to the development of policy and practice at a national or local level. Attendance at the conference will help bursary recipients to develop their knowledge and understanding of some of the latest developments in short breaks.

Bursary recipients should be available to take part from the 13th to 15th September 2016.

How much?

The maximum award will be £1,000. Bursary recipients will be responsible for making their own travel and accommodation arrangements, and submitting invoices for costs incurred. Further information is provided on the application form.

How to apply?

Please complete our online bursary application form before 12.00pm on Friday 24th June 2016. The form can be found at: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/ISBA2016UPCBursary

A paper copy of this form is also available.
