Annual inspection successful for SCAS - formerly Crossroads service

The annual inspection of Shetland Care Attendant Scheme  (SCAS), formerly known as Crossroads, by the care inspectorate was held on 12th July 2017 and resulted in a  grading score of 5 , equivalent to “very good”. The assessments covered three areas – (1) quality of care & support – (2) quality of staffing  – (3) quality of management & leadership.

During the inspection process, the inspectorate interviewed a range of people benefitting from the service delivered by SCAS, and the report comments favourably on the high level of positive feedback obtained regarding the quality of the service being delivered.

The report states there is currently no need for recommendations for improving the service.

Willie Henderson, the chairman of the voluntary board of Shetland Care Attendant Scheme said, “The board of SCAS are pleased that the first care inspection under our new structure is so positive and I congratulate our office staff and their team of support workers for their commitment which has resulted in this excellent outcome”
