Sibling Group Sessions

Sandveien Neighbourhood Centre, Lerwick

We run a monthly group on a Saturday morning from 10.45 - 12.45 for young people who have a sibling with Additional Support Needs or possibly carrying out a small caring role for a parent. In the holidays we are running some extra sessions to tie in with Disability Shetland holiday club

This group is to specifically designed so that children can have time out from their sibling. It is timed so that it fits with the drop off and pick ups for the Disability Shetland Saturday club, so that once a month parents can also have some respite time!

  • Saturday 27th April 2019 - we are supporting Disability Shetland's Spring Teas at Sandveien Neighbourhood Centre. Meet at the Sandveien Neighbourhood Centre at 11am (please note the later time for drop off, and different venue). We will spend some time looking round the different activities and having snack. We will then go out and about (possibly to Clickimin Broch, a walk to Seafield etc) so please make sure to wear clothes suitable for outside, and bring a jacket. Pick up at the Sandveien Neighbourhood Centre at 1pm (please note the later time for pick up, and same venue as drop off). Please send a small amount of money (i.e. £1 or £2) for your child to spend at the Spring Teas.

For the sibling group sessions you must book with Laura (01595 743946) or Karen (01595 743923), or email carers@shetland.org

Please don't bring snacks containing nuts to these groups.

Please see Family Days events tab for more information about activities you can bring the whole family to.
