Carers Week Celebration Event June 2017

CARERS WEEK CELEBRATION EVENT

Our celebration event to mark Carers Week will be on Saturday 24th June at Islesburgh from 1–3 pm and it is open to unpaid Carers, community alarm responders and their families. Come along and join us for tea, homebakes, music by High Level Music’s Hot Club and carers information. There will be information on accessing support to be a community alarm responder as well as OT and Telecare equipment demonstrations. Carers will also be able to have treat sessions including Indian head massages and manicures. Free passes are also available for carers to any SRT Leisure Facility for one week from Monday 26th June. To book your treat session or sign up for your free leisure pass please contact Kirsten Harcus on 743980 or at carers@shetland.org .

We are now taking names from carers who would like to book a treat session with us. We have Rozalyn from Sleeping Beauty coming to do Indian Head Massages - she was very popular with carers last year! We are also offering manicures and hand massages. So plase contact us if you would be interested in a pampering session!

During June we are also out and about in the community visiting care homes, doctors surgeries and local shops to speak about our support service for carers and to try and identify any carers who are not receiving support. So watch out for us in your area!
